For Sale: 1930s TB11 Conversion for Sale
I've had this banjo for over 10 years and it has been totally "re-worked" by Chris Cioffi. Those of you that know Chris' work, know that this will be a good banjo. The tone ring is a Dannick no-hole ring ($1,075) and was fit to the rim by Chris. The metal is in really good shape as you can see from the pictures. Chris reshaped the neck (originally built by Jim Yarboro), planed the fingerboard, installed stainless steel frets, and refit the neck to the rim. It has really nice, easy to play neck. It has a custom .656 bridge with Crowe spacing that Chris had made for me out of maple planks from an 1880s school house floor. I found the wood at a wood dealer in South Texas.
I've included pictures of the flaws. There is a nick in the paint between frets 1-5, there is wear on the top of the resonator back from heavy play and two of the inlays are thin from when Chris had to plane the neck.
