Vega Electric Banjo Guitar. I was told by the person I bought it from, this was made in 1925. A knowledgeable individual here on BHO stated he believes it to be made in 1923.
Rim is 11&13/16. Tailpiece is original, to the best of my knowledge.
I believe tuners are original. The 3rd tuner will need some attention, has recently started to slip. I have not tried to fix this in myself.
It currently has a calfskin head . Starting to sag a bit but I use it.
It uses a 1/2 inch bridge.
Does not have armrest.
Has original case, intact. Useable, but a new case would be recommended.
It has a sweet tone, very responsive.
It’s a joy to play.
I’ve always played this in open G, like a 5 string. I once put guitar strings on it, and let some guitarists play it, and it did fine.
It has a spin on resonator, which must not have been original to the instrument, because the banjo doesn’t fit in the original case with the resonator.
