For Sale: Prewar (1929) Gibson TB-2 Conversion Banjo |
|
For sale here is a prewar TB-2 that has been converted to a 5 string with a curly maple older Frank Neat neck (from early 2000s) with a speed neck and hearts and flowers board. This neck is made to spec to replicate a pw granada profile. The peghead has been drilled for cam tuners but they are no longer with the neck. It's a full neck and not a skinny one and one of the best curly maple necks I've owned. A full weight high profile sloan ring has been installed in the banjo and it truly is a powerhouse. The pot consists of its original prewar hardware and has never been refinished. At some point, someone wallered out the neck notch on the tension hoop, but the hoop is in really great shape structurally and plating wise. It still has a single co-rod. The banjo comes with it's original tenor neck and an old lifton 5 string case.
