For Sale: Original Vega DeLuxe 5- String Banjo circa 1927

Lowered asking price…This is an original Vega phone five string deluxe. 10 & 15/16 head size . Fiberskin head. This was the most expensive pictured Banjo in the Vega catalog during this era. Almost 100 years old. Gold plated hooks, nuts and tension hoop…The original bracket band came from the factory gold plated but not engraved, because it originally came with a resonator and gold plated engraved individual flanges. I’ve played it both ways and it sounds absolutely wonderful. Since I’ve been playing this as an open back for a while, I begged Glen Carson to engrave the original bracket band for me. And, he did. A wonderful job and well worth the wait. It’s highly polished and not gold plated.
Neck is straight, incredible DeLuxe heel carving ( fancier and longer than a normal # 9) The original two tab tuning machines were replaced before I got her. Now sporting old gold plated planet tuners with mother of pearl buttons. A newer hard shell case will be included, pictures of it when I find it. More pictures will be up loaded when possible.
