For Sale: 1997 Gibson Earl Scruggs Standard |
|
This is a particularly great sounding example of one of the most beloved models Gibson made in their last 20 or so years of production.
This banjo has nickel hardware, maple rim, neck and resonator, and an ebony fingerboard. The label was signed 10-10-1997. Nothing out of the ordinary for this model.
While it was generally pretty well cared for, theres are some signs of use. The hardware has some pitting and scratching I couldn’t get out when polishing it, but the wooden components have held up remarkably well and only have minor signs of wear. The first three frets have a little wear but won’t need any professional attention for a long time. A fifth string capo was installed on the banjo at one point, as there are two small screw holes in the side of the neck. The bottom screw tab of the truss rod cover is broken, but I have the missing pieces. The truss rod cover stays on just fine as it is so I left it alone.
This banjo sounds excellent and has been very inspiring to play and enjoy.
Comes in the original Gibson branded case for $3850 plus shipping.
Thanks for looking and feel free to reach out with any questions.
