Rare 1988 stelling Carolinian Deluxe
Cherry wood.
I am the original owner of this banjo and had Geoff buil this custom model in 1988.
It has served me well, but due to a hand injury a few yrs back IT has disabled my playing considerably, so time to pass it on the next generation of pickers.
This banjo sounds and plays amazing. I will post below a link so you can hear it.
It is made of cherry, not maple or walnut. I spoke with one of Geoffs guys that worked in the finish room, and he assured me it was cherry, and that Geoff only made a few. I think the total of carolinians that were made were around 11, and this one is cherry which makes it rare. At any rate, you won't be sorry investing in this banjo.
It currently has the Tony pass wood rim I had Geoff install around 2006-or 2007 , but I still have the original wood rim when it was built. You can view it in the pics. It is not flawless, as I stated it has been played and used since 1988. However has been very well maintained. She's a great solid banjo ready to play.
