For Sale: Gibson Style 11 Conversion Banjo
This is a pretty nice full conversion of what looks to have been a TB11 to a RB11. It looks like the original TB peghead overlay was used on the RB neck. The neck looks and plays good.
The pot assembly was cut for a no-hole Dannick tone ring, serial number 113. Of the original hardware, the flange has been replaced and the hooks and nuts look to be old but Iím pretty sure they are not pre-war Gibson. The tension hoop and armrest look to be original, but the tension hoop has had a repair done on it. It is fit with a nice Presto pat. pend. Tailpiece that has been punched for a G string. It has 3 thumb screws and 1 of them appear non-pre-war.
I have just completed a set-up of this banjo and, as you would expect with the pre-war wood and no-hole Dannick, the sound is incredible. Lots of punch with a very powerful low D string.
This banjo comes with a like new Calton case.
