Back issues have brought me to the point where I cannot play tone ring banjos any longer due to the weight. Because of this I'll be selling a number of tone ring banjos. This one is an amazing Walnut "Bean Blossom" Osborne Chief banjo. It is called Bean Blossom because the neck wood was retrieved from a walnut tree that sat in front of the stage at Bean Blossom. After it was hit by lightening Frank Neat took the wood, and eventually made some banjos out of it. Only a few were made, and this is one of them. It has one of the older Blaylock rings in it, (which to my ear sound the best), and the gold parts were engraved by Greg Rich. Its in excellent shape with only a few small nicks on the peghead, and a bit of wear on the fretboard at the first few frets (nothing deep enough to affect play). Tone wise it is everything the Chiefs are known to be, just amazing. Comes with its Osborne Chief strap, and a superior case, the Calton was gone before I got it! 3500.00 plus shipping
