For Sale: Deering Tenbrooks Legacy (Kruger ring)
Offered for your consideration, 2004 Deering Tenbrooks Legacy in Excellent +++ condition.
With the Kruger FT-36 Swiss Tone ring, this banjo is a premier example of how great a banjo can sound in the way of clarity, purity and just general power. Mahogany neck and resonator greatly compliment the Swiss ring and create a sound that is both hard driving bluegrass with note separation and can cut it when it comes to delicate sustain in melodic styles. I am the warranted owner and have carefully protected this banjo from any wear and tear. Upon inspection of this 16 year old instrument, you might think it was nearly new.
The plating is exceptionally shiny with no hazing and the wood and finish are in very fine condition as well. The only area that would reduce it from near mint is a small area on the lower edge of the resonator that was lightly blemished by an instrument stand years ago. Visible if you look for it, but hardly prominent..not in any way past the finish (see photo). Frets show absolute minimal wear (see photo) peghead edge free from nicks, no other noticeable marks on other parts of the instrument and it is completely factory original including the head and bridge.
This 2004 has the deeper lower part of the neck (first 5 frets) which I think is quite comfortable and contributes to its unique sound. For it being 16 years old, you would probably have to buy a Tenbrooks that is only 2 years old to find one this nice (and pay way more $$).
Will email video of me playing instrument on request. Video recording done with an Apple iPad without any signal processing.
This is a professional quality instrument with true recording quality sound as a bonus. $3850 No trades please. Original Deering case included.
(p.s. anything that might appear in the photos as a finish blemish is NOT. It was very difficult to photograph the instrument without significant reflections and the photos show many of those reflections.
