Description

Warren Yates is doing a bang up job reproducing the Pre War era Banjos.  He makes all of his parts by hand and this produces an extraordinary product.  This banjo is all original with upgraded Keith Tuners.  This does not mean Keith D Tuners, these are standard tuners.  All 4 of the tuners on the headstock have been upgraded with high quality Keith Tuners.  It also has a speed neck but I'm not sure if that was done at the factory, it may have been.

This has a maple shell with a maple neck and resonator.  The hardware is nickel and distressed to bring out the vibe and essence of the Pre War Banjo.  This has a rosewood fretboard with very nice inlay along with white binding on the neck and resonator.

This banjo sounds fantastic with great volume.  This also includes a very clean original and period correct Yates hardshell case.

Condition

The banjo is a relic so it is intentionally worn when manufactured but this has had little wear as a result of use.  The frets are in good shape as is the fretboard and the finish.  There are spikes at frets 7,8 and 9.  This banjo is a relic that has been well taken care of and the original case is very clean.

Set Up

This has a Huber frosted head which is set to 90.  The bridge is a Yates bridge and this has new Huber strings.  This is a powerhouse banjo that is put together and set up properly to maximize performance.
