Description

This is a very clean and all original Stelling Whitestar 5 string Banjo. This was Stelling’s more affordable banjo but the basic Stelling Design is still present. This has a one piece ribbon flange, no hole tone ring and an ebony fretboard which this combination produces a lot of volume, pop and bang. This is absolutely a strong banjo that will deliver the Stelling experience you seek.

This has the original Stelling Rim along with a straight grain maple neck and resonator. The fretboard is ebony with snowflakes and there is black binding on each side of the neck and fretboard.

The hardware is nickel and all original including a One Piece Ribbon Flange and a No Hole Tone Ring. This banjo is entirely all original. This also includes an original Stelling hardshell case.

Condition

This banjo is gorgeous. The finish is in great shape with a nice shine. All of the metal looks basically new and has a nice shine as well. The frets are nearly perfect and the fretboard is super clean with spikes at frets 7,9 and 10. This is definitely clean and the case is overall clean. There is wear on the outside of the case but that effects nothing and the case looks good for a 40 year old case.

Set Up

This is set up with a Remo frosted head which is set to 90. The bridge is the original Stelling Bridge and the strings are Huber and this also is a super player. This banjo has a lot of pop and is set up to be a thrill to play. This is a really good example of a serious powerhouse Stelling Whitestar Banjo and is set up and ready to go!!
