This is a very special Banjo and in all likelihood it was a custom order. The wood is White Holly. Bacon and Day Montana special Silverbell number one serial number 14458 circa 1925. This Banjo was set up by world renowned Banjo Luthier, Renee Karnes. It features the best tone ring that Bacon and Day used. I had Renee set it up with a Renaissance head and it is a phenomenal sounding instrument suitable for any style. It is very lightweight. It has one minor repair below the fifth string peg a piece of the neck flaked off below there and Renee replaced it and it is structurally sound. The Banjo is 100% original ( except the fifth string peg and head ) and includes the original hardshell case.
