For Sale: Custom Stone 12-Inch Open Back Banjo, Tunneled 5th, Rickard Tuners |
|
|
For sale is a gorgeous custom Stone open-back banjo with striking inlay work and a deep, rich voice. At jams, strangers have stopped to admire the inlays, ask about the banjo, and wanted to play it. They are often surprised by its powerful bass response and resonance.
This banjo was built with an extra-deep 12-inch pot, giving it a fuller and deeper low end than many open-back banjos. Its wood tone ring produces a warm, woody punch with excellent resonance and note clarity.
Specifications: * Curly maple neck * Extra-deep 12-inch block rim made from curly red maple sourced from a small mill in Northern Michigan * Persimmon fingerboard * Wide nut, approximately 1 3/8" - ideal for those who prefer extra string spacing * Comfortable 25.5-inch scale length * Curved scoop * Tunneled fifth string * Wood tone ring * Five Rickard 10:1 tuners * Curly maple dowel stick * Curly maple armrest * Hawktail tailpiece * Custom pearl inlay throughout * Moon bridge
The slightly wider neck and tunneled fifth string make the banjo especially comfortable and easy to navigate. It has a deep, warm, resonant sound that excels at rich bass tones while retaining enough clarity and punch for playing with others.
The only reason I am selling it is that my playing has shifted more toward three-finger bluegrass. This is a beautiful, distinctive instrument that deserves to be played regularly by someone looking for a premium custom open back.
