Selling my 2017 Gold Star GF-100JD J.D. Crowe model. This has been a great banjo and is a really solid option for anyone looking for that classic, traditional bluegrass sound.
The GF-100JD was designed after the prewar RB-3 that J.D. Crowe played on The Bluegrass Album. It has the V-shaped neck, no-hole flathead tone ring, deep resonator, and all the other features that give these banjos that dry, punchy sound Gold Stars are known for.
One of the coolest things about these is the label is signed by J.D. Crowe.
This one is from 2017 and has been played, but it’s a great sounding and playing banjo with plenty of volume and a strong fourth string. It also comes with the original Gold Star hardshell case with a replacement “handle”.
