We love the look, feel and sound of this one. This Pisgah banjo has that sound old time sound and it's thanks to the accurate reproduction of an original Vega Tubaphone. Pisgah makes the tubaphone on site and aims to recreate the infamous sound. If you want an extra push and great low end, you'll get it on this banjo.

The 12" rim is a popular size and is easy to play on stage. We added a stained, curly maple armrest to add comfort, but also add a professional look to the instrument. The final customization is the addition of a stained goat skin head to give you the authentic banjo sound.

It’s a traditionally-inspired instrument with vintage style detail, but Pisgah also wants to modernize certain aspects that will improve the instrument. The frailing notch is a great improvement that they have on all new banjos. This opens up the tension hoop near the neck to allow more room for the rhythm hand to move. A great change for a clawhammer banjo. Pisgah also incorporated a magnetic truss rod cover located on the headstock and allows you to adjust the truss rod on demand. A handy truss rod wrench is included with all new banjos. Playability will always be within reach at any time.
