Gibson Earl Scruggs Flint Hill Special 5-String Banjo – Serial # FH-00-22 – From Private Collection
Offered for sale is a Gibson Earl Scruggs Flint Hill Special five-string banjo, serial number FH-00-22, from my late father’s personal banjo collection.
My father was a dedicated banjo player, collector, and enthusiast who had a passion for Gibson banjos, vintage instruments, and traditional bluegrass music. He spent many years collecting, playing, and working on banjos, including converting vintage four-string tenor instruments into five-string banjos.
This beautiful Flint Hill Special has been part of his private collection for many years. It has the classic Gibson bluegrass banjo appearance and is an instrument that deserves the attention of serious players and collectors.
Our family has limited information regarding its complete history, originality, and any previous modifications. We are therefore presenting it as part of his estate collection and encourage prospective buyers to examine the photographs carefully.
The instrument is identified by serial number FH-00-22. We have not independently verified whether any components are from an earlier pre-war Gibson instrument.
We welcome knowledgeable collectors and serious buyers who can help confirm its history and appreciate these distinctive instruments.
A special opportunity to acquire a Gibson Earl Scruggs Flint Hill Special from a longtime banjo enthusiast’s personal collection.
